Kunming General Water Supply Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kunming Water Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the joint venture). It is a Sino foreign joint venture established by Kunming Water Group Co., Ltd. and Weiliya Water (Kunming) Investment Co., Ltd. through international bidding and the introduction of strategic investment partners by the Kunming Municipal People's Government. On May 1, 2006, the joint venture company was officially established with the approval of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Commerce, and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. Kunming Water Group Co., Ltd. holds 51% of the equity, while Veolia Water (Kunming) Investment Co., Ltd. holds 49% of the equity. The operation period of the joint venture company is 30 years.
