Basic requirements for valve inspection

Release date:2025-11-11Number of views:194

This standard (JB/T9092) is a revision of ZBJ16006-90 "Testing and Inspection of Valves".

The main technical differences between this standard and ZBJ16 006-90 are as follows:

1. Change the name of the standard to "Inspection Requirements for Valves"

2. Add the terms' one-way seal and two-way seal '

3. The regulations for the "necessary tests" of valves are specified separately for each size based on nominal pressure and nominal capacity

4. The test items for gate valves and globe valves are specified separately

5. The minimum duration of shell and seal tests for butterfly valves has been modified to be consistent with other valves

6. The minimum duration of the sealing test on the valve has been modified

7. The maximum allowable leakage for the sealing test has been modified according to the requirements of API 598-96

8. Modified the test method for low-pressure sealing test

term

Unidirectional sealing: After the valve is closed, the medium must enter from one direction at both ends of the valve in order for the sealing pair of the valve to remain sealed

Bidirectional sealing: Regardless of which direction the medium enters from both ends of the valve, the valve sealing pair can maintain sealing after the valve is closed
