Overview

The SD44X manual sludge discharge valve is a simple yet intuitive device for sludge or wastewater removal. By manually rotating the top handwheel or operating the handle, it directly drives the valve stem and disc to perform vertical movement, enabling precise control of the discharge channel for sediment at pool or tank bottoms. Featuring a concealed stem design, the valve stem remains stationary during handwheel rotation to prevent debris entanglement. With its robust construction and reliable performance, this valve operates without external power or air sources. Primarily designed for small sedimentation tanks, sand filters, sludge storage tanks, and auxiliary facilities requiring periodic manual drainage, it serves as an economical and dependable solution for scheduled emptying and maintenance.

Feature

1. Manual operation with simple and reliable structure: The system is entirely operated by manually turning the handwheel or operating the handle, requiring no external power. Its structure is simple, free from complex electrical or hydraulic components, and has a low failure rate. It demonstrates significant advantages in scenarios requiring no power or high reliability.

2. Hidden rod design for anti-fouling and durability: The valve employs a concealed rod lifting mechanism, with the valve stem threads located internally within the valve body, isolated from the medium, while only the handwheel rotates externally. This design effectively prevents sludge, fibers, and other impurities from entangling or corroding the exposed valve stem, thereby extending the valve's service life and ensuring a cleaner operating environment.

3. Sealing options include hard or soft seals: The valve disc can be fitted with either a metal hard seal (wear-resistant and heat-resistant) or a rubber/polyurethane soft seal (highly airtight and wear-compensating), designed to meet stringent sealing requirements for different media such as clean water and slurry.

4. Angular flow channel ensures smooth discharge: The angular valve body features a vertical downward inlet connected to the pool bottom and a horizontal outlet. The flow channel's turning design facilitates the smooth discharge of sediment, reduces dead zones for mud accumulation within the valve cavity, and ensures unobstructed discharge.

5. Easy maintenance and cost-effective: The valve features an intuitive structure, requiring only routine inspections of the stuffing box and lubrication replenishment. For major overhauls, disassembly and replacement of internal seals are relatively straightforward. Its manufacturing and maintenance costs are significantly lower than those of automatic valves, making it highly economical and practical in non-frequent or non-automatic control applications.
